Help! Dining room remodel....need advice
Remodeling my home and purchased a dining table that I love. The chairs have gray leather on the front with walnut backs.
Don't know what to do with the big wall, chandelier or whether or not I should add a rug. Trying to incorporate a modern / edgy feel

Comments (39)Latest update! Made a few changes to the book cabinet to the left of the fireplace. Added chrome legs to match the legs on the tv cabinet and added doors to the top half to try to make it look less cluttered. The lighting in the photos isn't great but hopefully you get the idea.Am quite pleased with the result. Comments (15)We just painted a color called "Latte" over the dark red walls in our place and we keep thinking that someone left the light on! It adds that much light to the place as the red was just sucking out any light in the place. Find a color you like more for that wall and repaint...and/or maybe add a ceramic tile backsplash? Comments (2)The way to get your own eyes on the issue is to start with a general clear out so you can really "see" your kitchen and "keeping" room. Box up and remove all the stuff - tops of cabs, counters, art on walls, fridge and floor clutter, photos, area rugs. Then dig into the cabs and the hutch and remove all the items you only use once or twice a year. Store those away from the kitchen so you gain more room in the cabs for items you regularly use. Is that a radiator on the wall by the TV? I'm thinking the hutch niche would make a great computer area with a built-in desk. Are there any other doors into this room and is this your only living room? What size is the window at the table? Are you up for more than rearranging things? Any construction you can do? Comments (5)thank u . yes need a bigger table for room. this one is to small. also I have two semi circle wall light lights on each wall. light fittings are brushed chrome no sure if this matter when choosing ceiling lights. I want to keep it traditional . thanks for all ur help....See More

6 years agoLove the dining set. I think a really simple rug will help frame the space. A large art piece would be a great idea. What do you think of these chandelier? Good Luck!
