Sliding door or wall??

Should we use a sliding pocket door between our open plan living space and front living room or build a wall? Please help us decide what’s your experience with pocket sliding doors or would we just be better to brick it up and have a totally separate space?? Thanks in advance!

Every manufacturer that I know of in the U.S. makes a metal piece to cover the space in the back of a true slide in range. If you are having new countertops installed, then you would have a piece of countertop cut for behind a slide in range and install a support piece for it to sit on (2x4 nailed onto the wall). Then it looks continuous around it. I have never seen a true slide in range that didn't have a lip on each side and the back that is supposed to sit on top of the surrounding counters and close up any gaps. Makes me wonder if the cabinets or countertops in this kitchen were raised for some reason so that they are higher than the range. Ranges have adjustable legs, but they can only adjust so far.

Knock down wall between kitchen and dining room or sliding door

Hi All, Apologies if this has been done to death but I currently have a very dark dining room due to an extension that has been built to the rear of it. The kitchen has relatively more light so I was hoping to borrow some light from the kitchen. I am a bit nervous about fully bringing down the wall between the kitchen and dining room as I would like to preserve the entity of both rooms if that makes any sense. Question is any ideas or photos of the below ideas that can help me decide between the options I am looking into: (a) knock down wall fully (b) knock down half the wall to create an arch (c) add a sliding door between dining and kitchen? Sliding door cupboard in a Shaker kitchen?

Hi, I am changing the shape of my kitchen to a U shape to maximise storage. I am hoping to put my utility machines and wall boiler behind sliding doors as pictured. This would also enclose the small window which only looks into my neighbour's kitchen! It was originally designed as a utility room so the window was never meant to be in the kitchen. Would this work in a Shaker kitchen? I will be getting Shaker presses in cashmere and the sliding doors would be in the same painted wood. The chrome surround of the sliding doors would match the chrome handles of the kitchen presses. The sliding doors would have a window next to it with presses underneath before the next tall unit starts so maybe that would visually separate the two styles? (The island will be gone and the fridge integrated). Bit worried it might look too contemporary in a Shaker kitchen. Any advice appreciated!
