I've attached the closeup of the counter, will look into changing the handles just to give the cabinets a lift. @Dannielle Lyn... I was actually looking at glossy black tiles this afternoon and thinking seriously about them so that helped thanks

Hi there! We think a white grout is probably your best option here, if you don't want it to look too busy. This is one of our hexagon mosaic tile displays we have in the TileStyle showroom and we have used white grout for this. As you can see, the shape of the tile is still very much visible but it's still a more subtle look that's not too busy. If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!

Hi I am having a kitchen fitted and getting a splashback - the kitchen is high gloss handless cream and the worktop is wood with a 100 MM plinth in wood - walls are being painted beige trying to decide on the backsplash 1. Kitchen maker says black to match hob 2. I'm considering having it made cream to match the kitchen would black be too busy - it's an open plan living kitchen area many thanks in advance
