Powder room basin

Hi there - we are an Australian design firm. I love the barbican recessed in wall basin in the powder room. I have seen one in situ in australia but wonder if they are still in production? Can u advise where this was sourced? Many thanks! Neroli

Unfortunately they are no longer in production. If you can find one you might have trouble finding all of the other parts to make it work. For a more recent project we had to ring every Twyford's dealer and online shop we could find to confirm their stock. Excluding the time it took to track everything down, the total sink cost was well over £400. Hard to justify for a client, unless they really really want it! Sorry I couldn't be of more help. Siobhan, the black-and-white is showroom deco, right? Very cool. The checkerboard floor is vintage, but the combination of border, wall tiles, and stripes strike me as more contemporary. Point being that the fixtures look fine with it, so why not with yours? For the shower floor mosaic, you might consider something like this in whatever colors you plan to use:

It is a gorgeous room with lovely features. I would second Minnie's colour choices, I have Farrow & Ball Pale Powder in my bedroom and it is a gorgeous colour - like an Eau de nil but changes colour throughout the day and is very soothing. I have dark wooden floors and dark brown leather sofas like you and I think I'm going with Farrow & Ball Borrowed Light when I come to decorate to give everything a lift, a pale rug is also a great idea. The cabinets you mention I would choose white to go with your existing bookcase and also to keep things light against the walls. This is currently my inspirational living room pic, the walls are borrowed light.

Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme.

We have made room for an en-suite shower room to our guest room we went for the largest shower cubicle we could reasonably fit in. Found the nicest white tiles to make the best of the space. Fitted bifold shower screen feeling the space was too small for a wet room( too much drying off of the fittings and paddling water beyond the area). toilet opposite, and sacrificed on the basin, just a small wash hand basin. Our thinking being that these days people tend to shower rather than wash and the smaller basin works well for teeth cleaning and hand washing. it works well. Hope yours will too.
