Hi, it is straight acer palmatum ie not a named cultivar which are often smaller. The straight acer is a vigorous tree. I hope that helps.

Thank you. I wanted a similar tree but to reach a maximum height of 2.5 m in my front garden. Would you recommend planting close to my bungalow wall? I was thinking of acer palmatum shishi gashiri. Could you recommend a suitable cultivar?

There are so so many and I'm by no means a specialist in this area. However I do like Sango Kaku (coral bark maple) and if you want a dark leaved variety, then maybe O Kagami. Wilson's Pink is another lovely one I came accross recently. Hope that helps.
