Render and Window Colour Combination

Hi,

Moving into a new house which is currently painted white with white PVC windows. We're planning on replacing the windows with Aluclad windows and I was looking for suggestions on colour combinations.

Initially, I was thinking that I'd repaint the house white and go with Anthracite Grey frames. However I'm a little worried that it's very fashionable at the minute and might date in the next couple of years.

I've also seen a few houses lately with lighter coloured windows which looked good. One had a grey with what looks to be almost an olive undertone with the walls painted a deep creamy shade.

I'd be really interested to hear what colour combinations other people have gone for and whether I risk dating the house as '2016' with a white/dark grey/anthracite combination.

I'll post photos later of the house as it is currently and a mock up of the house with dark grey windows.

Hi @aiexandrina, thanks for your reply. The pebble dash in the photo is actually falling off the back of the house, so we needed a full redoing. The acrylic render finish is guaranteed for 20 years, so won't need to be painted until then. We were considering grey and perhaps sandstone colours in keeping with the traditional look.

I'm doing something very similar at the moment and I decided to go for a cold ivory colour with the windows divided into same size panels and a grey front door. The frames also have a foil finish that gives them a faux wood texture. I decided against the grey frames, as much as I love them, as I think they will probably date in the same way the pale green ones I see around have too.

Looking for help in choosing colours for Windows and render. It’s a 1930s semi. We’ll be externally insulating it and looking for a textured wet dash finish. We love our white plinth and intend on reinstating it. I’m not a fan of the anthracite grey that’s in at the moment, so will probably favour a lighter colour window. Our window supplier has suggested RAL 9002. Not sure on wet dash render colour, off white/light grey. Any thoughts? We’ll be adding a side/rear extension too which will have a smooth render finish.
