7 years agoPerhaps something like this? It has a mirror base which makes the ceiling look higher. Standing or wall lights shooting up into gloss ceiling as well?

Comments (6)My light casts it's frame shadow, but it's not that noticeable because it's way up high (see pic) mine is in a double floor height ceiling. I think if the pendant was lower, then shadows would be more prominent. Also, my light isn't as busy, so the shadows are less. Overall, my take is the busier the pendant and lower the height, you'll see more shadows. (don't mind the paint job, still in reno)...See Moreisland pendant lighting
Comments (0)I would love some advice on finalizing a choice for island pendant lighting. My kitchen has 8 foot ceilings and the island will be 4'x6'. My husband is 6'1" so I want to make sure lighting isn't too low for his sight line but also to not have fixture too tall that it looks strange hugging the ceiling too closely. I like the seeded glass look and brushed nickel finish as it will coordinate with the glass front cabinet in wet bar area. I also prefer rod vs. chain or cord hanger. This light is 12.5" wide x 11.25" high. Would have a little longer drop from ceiling. I think I would do 2 instead of 3?? This light is 10.5" wide x 15.75" high. It would only have a 6" drop from ceiling so don't know if that is too big and too close to ceiling. Maybe do just 2 or possibly 3?? 7 years agoI agree, I think sometimes we all just put up a central light because the wiring is already there. Wall lights, floor lamps and table lamps create a great ambiance to a room.

7 years agoThis John Lewis light might do the trick. It throws a beautiful pattern on the ceiling when it's on.
