Comments (3)Since you are keeping the flooring, everything new has to be in relation to the floor. Do you have a photo of the floor? Hold up samples of the cabinet paint and see if it enhances the flooring. You might need a more cream paint on cabinet and see these dark knobs. Some of the marble-type have many gray streaks. I'd look for something with brown-beige streaks to enhance the beige grout and beige floor tilehttps://www.houzz.com/photos/traditional-bathroom-traditional-bathroom-phvw-vp~93581 The back splash I'd do in the same "marble" as the counters b/c if you match the beige grout of the floors, with the subway tile, the back splash tile will look odd and if you use a white grout on the subway tile, it will look odd with the floors, too....See MoreOur bland kitchen - help
Comments (20)Kitchen cabinets will look fantastic painted. The thing to consider when thinking about worktops is the work black granite creates - they show every little watermark, so need a lot of polishing. I discovered this when doing lots of experiments on granite samples! Other thing to bear in mind is granite is porous, so you have to be careful about staining the lighter coloured worktops and granite requires resealing after a few years. Because I'm quite lazy and didn't want any maintenance, plus we are a messy family, I went with Compac Quartz in white mirror, it's practically bomb proof and I haven't managed to stain it yet (3 years on). Comes in tons of colours....See MorePlinth mirrors or lighting?

Comments (9)Every manufacturer that I know of in the U.S. makes a metal piece to cover the space in the back of a true slide in range. If you are having new countertops installed, then you would have a piece of countertop cut for behind a slide in range and install a support piece for it to sit on (2x4 nailed onto the wall). Then it looks continuous around it. I have never seen a true slide in range that didn't have a lip on each side and the back that is supposed to sit on top of the surrounding counters and close up any gaps. Makes me wonder if the cabinets or countertops in this kitchen were raised for some reason so that they are higher than the range. Ranges have adjustable legs, but they can only adjust so far....See Morecd_ks
