need help with curtain colour
Comments (39)Window shopping and lots of online browsing.! .haven't purchased anything yet!. Just getting house back in order after painting! I have put back the red/winey curtains that I previously had up...convinces me more to go with a neutral colour. The walls are rich Taupe but with a slight grey hue off them so I think the bottom left above actually might work. I have bedding very similar so I took them out and held up and think it would look very nice. Purple isn't a theme in my house (although I do have one bedroom painted purple/lilac) My sitting room is white red black and silver and living/kitchen room is tan and red. I want a rug that wont show up the dirt that much...I live in the country side and have lots of dirty feet coming in so I cant go for any rug that is too light in colour...See MoreGarden help
Comments (25)Hi lots of different options and ideas going on. I had a similar wall and understand how mean it can be to little ones. I bought and put up the expanding wood trellis. This instantly covered the area at a very reasonable price. I then planted quick growing climbing plants. I'm not a great gardener so I cant remember what i had but ask at the garden centre they will advise you. But at least you have a barrier in place to minimize accidents....See MoreHelp with a boring bedroom
Comments (23)Adding width BEHIND THE BED - with a headboard (which doesn't have to be a "headboard"; it could be fabric, collection of mirrors, collection of pictures, a farm gate!, small chairs or stools) across the entire width. Matching bedside tables/bookcases/chests/ with LAMPS - useful storage for extra books, extra bedding, etc. CURTAINS always warm up a room. People will always feel colder away from home - provide an extra blanket or duvet to add to the bed. I notice there is no WARDROBE. Not really necessary for overnight guests (provide hooks on the back of the door) but useful for storing your out-of-season coats, etc. There is plenty of room behind the door. Buy one on eBay and paint it to suit your colour scheme....See Moreneed help downsizing and designing for ease of use with a disability
Comments (2)It's difficult to provide decent advice with limited information. Issues to consider: - access to the front door of new house, is it level or on a low slope? - is there level access from all external doors? i.e. no steps up or down. Do you need a ramp building with handrails? - is there a toilet downstairs? Do you need mobility aids like grab rails and emergency call systems? - doors need to be wide enough to get through. Assuming you use a wheelchair you may need wider doors. - is the new house on a single storey only? Bungalow? Obviously better if it is as there are no stairs to navigate. - steps and stairs generally - try to avoid properties with these or make sure they are limited or have a low rise and large tread area. - age of new house. The newer it is the more likely it is to more suited for accessibility. The older it is the harder it will be. New houses have access requirement regulations to comply with. - do you need an accessible kitchen? Larger space needed with low worktops for wheelchairs? Not sure if this is any help but maybe it is..?...See Moreabbyjean
