Stove light

I have a 9kw stove in a built in cove I was wondering if I could put a spot light under the cove about one foot over the stove, good you give me advise on what type of light to use and how safe it would be with the high temperature,

Hi Gerry, it is feasible to do this however there will always be side effects from the heat. In our experience the best option is to use an LED Ground Light. This type of light is robust and can cope with heat better than traditional downlights.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi Lisa, nice sofa. I had a red sofa for 10 years and loved it ( though mine was fabric) I've changed the kitchen/ living room and it stuck out like a sore thumb. I gave in and put in a grey leather sectional one and I must say it's much easier to decorate around. Are you in Ireland? Have you heard of the 1933 company, they have very nice suites. Red makes a big statement! Just my 2 cents worth, good luck!

basement room with lovely inglenook fire and stove, need ideas for couches/seating etc. Room has 2 sets of double doors, one into the kitchen the other into the garden and a further single door into the hallway. The stove is back, the inglenook has 3 grey granite slabs and the back of the fireplace is yellow dolphins barn brick. any ideas for seating, lighting and flooring. The room is very dark.

From the looks of things, that really is the only place for the sectional. So...can you pull it out just a foot maybe away from the window? Move your tv over the stove if safe to do and try a big plant in that corner where the tv is now. Your painting behind some is way too big for that wall. Move to opposite wall. I would remove the black loves eat and replace with two reading chairs and maybe that end table you have by the sofa. For window treatments I just do not see drapes/curtains working in this room with that sectional.
