Where to place door
Comments (5)Hi Bernice - the space by the brown doors needs to be relatively clear for door access - so as the door through as the new opening will also require clearance - that might be a better place to put it ( ie nearer the outside door ) If you do a sketch plan of this room and the living room on the other side of the wall - with how you propose to have your furniture in both rooms - this will help locate the best place . With the info given at the moment - I would say the best place is close to the French doors . And as for size - well for aesthetics - I would echo the French door size ! ( so will need quite a big pocket door hidden in the wall !!) Looks like a fun project ! I have the same toaster and kettle set as you !! I really hope that you aren't having to cope with no kitchen for long ?!?! :-)...See MoreKitchen Help
Comments (9)Happy to help ! I'm only a short swim away in England !! I think if you want a truly opulent cream for the kitchen cabinets - I'd suggest you get a colour match for the range ! It looks a very creamy cream ! Think it could be stunning ! Then have slightly lighter walls and tiles to keep the room feeling light and airy ! If you have walnut stain for your worktop on your island , I'd suggest using that on your exposed legs if you go for the dipped paint look on the table and chairs ! Are you having the classic CC shaped island ?!?...See MoreNeed help window placement & size & type glass
Comments (7)I feel in a situation like this, I would not add windows with no view that would probably end up with some type of coverings a great deal of the time. My situation would be use of mirrors to reflect available light back into room. Mirror could be styled to look like Windows etc. we have a similar situation in our kitchen, and we mirrored over the sink, and created two faux windows using mirror and drapery side pannels. The effect works great, and when you add the right lighting the effect is wonderful, day and night. Take a good look and visualize day and night views creating with mirrors designed into a "today" style and look....See MoreHelp! Need to order my upvc windows today
Comments (7)Thanks everyone. The company I am using does have a lighter grey option but I didnt much fancy it, looked like it was trying to look metal or something. I'm not a huge fan of white upvc, that's what we have at the moment. I'm sure the grey will be fine and chances are after some time of living with them I might not even notice what color they are - hopefully too busy looking at our views .... or the rain! I'm off now to our local golf club which I'm told has the exact grey I'm talking about in their new lounge area. Might give me an idea. Fingers x'd I'll get it right....See MoreDesign Fusion
