Help me decide on house extension plans. Would be so grateful :)
Comments (5)The "L' shape which extends further on the right will give you marginally more light into it - but this depends on the design of the roof and glazing - which is vitally important to the end result. I would consider putting pocket doors from the lounge into the kitchen (keeping the size as is) to allow the afternoon sun to be seen from the kitchen. This space might be a better option for the playroom - depending on the age of your children etc. I would put kitchen on the right hand side. Could you put a door from hall into the bike store so you don't have to go through the kitchen? Consolation prize for this orientation is that the back right hand side of your rear garden will hold the Summer evening sun the longest - so thats where to put the BBQ!...See MoreFloor plan opinions please
Comments (2)I also should add the stairs at end if hallway is leading to a small study and storage in attic. would love some opinions on overall plan....See MoreFloor plans- any ideas?
Comments (0)Hi all We have recently begun renovations on an old cottage that had been extended a couple of times by previous owners. The house had two large chimney breasts that have been removed. One of these was between the kitchen/ living room, opening up this space and then the other chimney was between two bedrooms. As part of the chimney removal in the bedrooms we were thinking of moving the remaining dividing wall back making the front bedroom larger as gets better light and then the middle bedroom would be more tv snug/ office/ guest room. Any thoughts on this or the plans in general, just seeing if it is the best layout before we go too far. Thanks...See MoreSuggestions on the kitchen/living/dining room lighting plan
Comments (0)Hi all, I have designed my lighting and electric plan for a new build this way. I've never done it before and am afraid I will miss something. Please give any comments or suggestions you might have. Kitchen has 2 pendants (A and B on plan) over an island and lighting under the top cabinets. Am wondering if I may need also some discreet light from the top as well. The top cabinets might miss some light I think. Living room has one pendant over coffee table (C) and a discreet light (D) over the TV cabinet. Dining room has 2 pendant lights (E and F). Please advise. Kind regards...See More- 10 years agolast modified: 10 years ago
