Herringbone wood flooring

Hi everyone

I am trying to find a good Herringbone floor supplier, around £40-50 per sqm, I am after a white oiled oak look, does anyone have any recommendations?

Hello

Most herringbone is sold unfinished,to which a white oil is applied after installation. This allows border work to be carried out.

Pre-finished herringbone is available , but unless the installer is particularly gifted, borders are not usual.

How many m2 do you require?

I don't know what the rest of the decor is like but parquet is perfect for this era or go for black and what tiles. Did they not also use Lino?! That could be a lot cheaper! It depends how "themed" the Art Deco style is. Maybe just go for a cheaper option floor and add geometric rugs? Or have you looked at karndean parquet floor?

I disagree. This is standard whitewood T&G flooring. It's generally laid across joists by builders on the first floor of two storey houses as a cheap subfloor ready to take a floor finish. I've seen it sanded and varnished / stained and while it looks OK for a few months, it doesn't wear well as it's a (very) soft wood and is very noisy, particularly in the rooms under. If you want a wood finish without breaking the bank, there are some good laminates that you can lay over the T&G boards. A semi-engineered board would be better but will cost a bit more.

I want to remove carpet and put in new flooring, NOT carpet. With all the wood on the walls, I think a wood floor is too much wood and too dark. What would you suggest for tile to lighten up the room with heavy wood?

Hi

That pattern is called Chevron,it would have been laid in its raw state and finished on site[ most probably] Grade is rustic, knots allowed.

Its probably a matt oil finish .I am note sure if I am allowed to put prices here so if you wish to email me on info@oflynnsflooring.ie we can discuss further.

Each block measures approx 450 long x 140/150 wide

It would be custom made for you so you may choose your own block size.

I'm currently researching wood floors for a client. I came across this company that you might like to have a look at too. I haven't contacted them as yet so can't personally recommend. The Natural Wood Flooring Company
