Mirror in Shower

Currently renovating, next project is giving our bathroom a complete makeover. My husband wants to add a mirror into the shower unit itself for convenience for shaving while showering. He is thinking of attaching it to the tiles. I'm not gone on the idea. Afraid it will create a shabby look in no time, plus I've never seen it elsewhere. Any advice?

If you Google shower mirror, they do come up. There are some that can be hung on the shower head so they're not a permanent installation.

I have a one unit thingy that dispenses shampoo, conditioner and holds razors and bar soap, and it has a shaving mirror. I don't use the mirror but it's a nice unit and doesn't look tacky at all. They're out there, you just have to look around a bit.

My understanding: You didn't find any problem functionally, but you feel this looks old & need some brightness & change in this. My advise: 1). Remove towel rod, shift it next to tub or behind closet & have full length mirror, which will make your space double & reflect natural light as well thus makes the space more bright. 2). Get couple of plants (small plants or bush type or creepers which doesn't occupy much space on floor but grows vertically). 3). Get some artifacts made from bright colored glass, can flower vase or wall hangings or glass tiles etc, these can be of yellow or Bright Orange color these are to be hung on walls opp to mirror or pasted(3M tape both side glued) if you are using tiles. 4). Get a mat of same color as artifacts & place between tub & closet. these all are easily done by yourself. OR if you can afford to then replace only green tiles & floor tiles if you wish to OR all tiles.

http://houzz.com/photos/3642990 This link kind of demonstrates the use of mosaics and the mirror idea I thought may be cool. Obviously they are vertical but I think it would work either way. Any pics of your tiles? I have seen your other post and know your suite is 'traditional' but another thing to consider I guess is the cost of the mosaics. £££ using lots may mean a big dent in your budget.

hello there. How about two wall sconces, one on either side of the mirror, and a roof light in the centre. I can't help with particular ones/ where to source them, but I think in this space, something rounded or square will work. You can also consider a light at the shower

I wouldn't tile a mirror attached to the tiles is a wise idea. If you were to try and sell your house, it wouldn't be a selling feature if you know what I mean.

I think we'll have to go for a mirror that's not a permanent fixture.
