At the moment all your stuff is concentrated at one side of he room making it cluttered and bare at the same time. Pictures need to go at eye height, so maybe get a simple shelf built above the sofa at eye height for some knick knacks. Somehow your pictures seem very high up on the wall. You could cluster them together above the sofa maybe? You can still have your mantel but with maybe a better-selected range of bits on it. Agree that some shelving might be good in the alcoves but not above the line of the top of those pictures. I would have gone for a much darker colour for the walls (like navy blue) because the sofa would have blended in a bit more and it would look luxurious against the dark background. Plus dark colours give your stuff an instant quality upgrade. (I always say it makes my sh*t look like stuff) Sorry that's unhelpful as you've obviously made those decisions!!

Sofa shape & size in snug area

I have a snug area off my kitchen/dining space for the Tv & seating. i am looking for the right sofa, looking at corner units to suit this space yet give us comfortable seating for 4. the width of the area is 2.9m & my length is open but less than 2.4m as it will impact on my dining area. Think the best option is longer sofa side to the right, against the glass & shorter side across the tv. I need to be able to access the seating & want to keep the height low & preferably not a sofa that goes to the floor so that it has the appearance of making the room spacious. another option is to fill the space for a sofa so you maximise the seating but I still need to access the sofa. Any advice please on what type to use modular, corner etc and type & size

Hi im looking to get a new sofa for my living room . I currently have an L shape but and not happy with it . There is only one really wall which I think it can be placed and its infront of my window which I think is blocking light ? And is against curtains . I'm thinking of also get roman curtain blinds in a pelmet box to avoid that ? I'm looking for any advice or inspiration I don't mind changing the style decor of the room ? Also I need storage for toddler toys so need to redesign and layout Photos in comments

Hi all, just wondering if anyone had purchased the Boxit sofas from DFS on line? We have a narrow door problem and so assembled sofa is the way to go for us. Before I order it I am trying to find out if people found it comfortable. DFS don’t have these sofas in showrooms (not sure why) and if you are not happy with it and want to return it they charge 20% fee plus collection fee. Not sure whether to risk it! Would love to know if anyone has ordered one. Thanks.
