need help to choose collor for walls in my sitting room
Comments (6)I'm thinking a warm gray...it would accent the mirror and go beautifully with the color of the fire surround and the gray floor. You could do the chimney breast (the bumped out wall) in a slightly darker shade that the other walls. As noted above, look at the Affinity Colors from Ben Moore as your inspiration, then you can look at other manufacturers. Also, not that you asked, but replace the "feathers" on the mantel with something else...they're too close to the look of the mirror and almost look as though they have fallen off...use them elsewhere in the room, grouped together....See MoreI need help with this large sitting room.
Comments (2)I think the ceiling is a great architectural detail, and built ins with color to match almost seem necessary because of the wall shape....See MoreI need a new rug for my sitting room
Comments (21)Love your carpet choices here! I noticed that there no artwork on the walls yet. This will elevate the mood of the room since you will need an upper emphasis once your room is anchored with the carpet. It is easier to decorate around a rug, the one you love for sure, than around a focal piece, such as art. After you choose from any of the beautiful carpets above that work with your interior, take a photo of the room with the carpet installed in it. Have fun looking for the artwork that best sings with your carpet. and that grabs you. After you have the choice of art up on the wall, look for small accessories of colour of shape, size and texture that work with the whole composition last. Do not forget something living such as plants, which take the sterility out of the room, especially neutral walls and natural floors....See MoreNeed help for my narrow sitting room
Comments (3)Hello. I see you posted in December, but if you haven't already re-arranged: 1. I agree wholeheartedly about the roman blinds. (Nifty idea to reuse the great fabric of the curtains. I didn't think of that one ) 2. I'd move the armchair to the left of the fireplace where the lovely vase is. Vase under bay window instead maybe? 3. Put the TV on the wall below the framed photos: 90 cm above floor level is a comfortable height for seated viewing. 4. Then the sofa can go on the opposite wall, it's more welcoming when you walk in the door from the hallway. (To the left of the bay window) As for small L-shaped sofas, the smallest I've seen is a sofa bed from IKEA. Very tidy but I've not tested it for comfort. Has integrated storage for bed covers. Neat. 5. Then turn your rug and coffee table 90 degrees, parallel with the fireplace wall and in line with the bay. (Turning the long axis of these items across the width of the room will make it appear wider, especially where you already have the extra width of the bay.) Without dimensions of these items and the room I can't be sure will that fit. But if you're not already sorted I guess it's worth a try....See MoreDytecture
