Thanks for the question. The house was designed in the 1980's with the original owner. The original plans were not available and the overall design was not altered, the renovation process was all for improving weather related protection systems such as windows, sheathing, wraps and flashing, etc. It was a process of Remove and Replace, improving on those applications. In addition to improved protection, all new paint, inside and out were applied. Benjamin Moore Aura and Regal Select. I wish I could be more helpful answering your question.

Thank you, am very bad at making choices but this floor would be ideal for our beachside house. Just hope it won't look too artificial! Have seen the classic oak down and it looks so like real wood. Can find only one image of the Country Oak...on the Karndean website

Just a quick note to thank you all for sharing your thought, ideas, experience and time. I especially want to thank Bluenan and decoenthusiaste for being with me through the all process for the last 6 months or so..., just wanted to post few photos of the results (https://www.houzz.com/discussions/any-ideas-for-final-touches-to-this-living-dinning-room-dsvw-vd~569586) as I feel it is not only me who created this space but it is your creations as much as mine. It may not be perfect or according to the the "Rules", but it is Me and my family. Each and every piece was chosen by me in different parts of the world and each one of them has a unique story behind. I am very pleased with my space. I love it! I am very blessed. .... and so I am off to my new project now... Back to school.... that's really going to be hard ;) Thank you all, once again.

The flame-retardant paper material, Nomex, is designed by Cheyney Design and Development as a special solution for manufacturers and other users who have this particular need. Nomex has many applications which include the production of personal protection wear to protect Formula 1 drivers and fire-fighters from sudden combustion. It is also incorporated in the fireproof honeycomb framework the Airbus A380 wide-body aircraft. Nomex flame-retardant paper material contains heavy-metal additives, such as bismuth to withstand high temperature and thus prevent flash fire. Cheyney Design and Development has developed a special x-ray inspection process to accurately measure the concentration of heavy metal components, by core sampling and analysing the bales. This has resulted in recovery of nearly 2500 tonnes of material, with blending of the paper to specific grades, producing both financial and sustainability benefits. Not only does Cheyney invest in designing and manufacturing efficient high-tech equipment; it likewise sees to it that the environment does not suffer from the disposal of the materials produced and discardedduring the process of production. This is how it should be for all truly concerned industries. It also allows them to recover valuable recyclable materials, which redounds to financial savings as well as prevents the unwise depletion of resources of our planet. Companies such as Cheyney deserve to be appreciated and emulated for the example they set as being environmentally-conscious or concerned. Hi Gloria,

First, we only use Benjamin Moore Paints for all our projects because our experience has always been that this brand handles the elements and look the best over 15-30 year period. We used Ben Moore's best line, Aura Exterior "Low Lustre 634" for the exterior as this was as very expensive renovation and the owner did not want to paint again for years. Aura has Color-Lock Technology and resists dirt and especially "fading" better than any other paint. Note: I recently visited the Ben Moore R&D Facility in Montvale NJ and on a 10 acre farm Ben Moore paints outlast every brand.

The colors are on the "Color Stories" fandeck. Main body color is: Gallery Buff CSP-225 and the Trim: Gotham CSP-385.

We used a low lustre/low sheen finish because it resists dirt far better than a flat finish. Its very easy to rinse off with a garden hose a couple times a year. No need to power was with high pressure as that can create damage in itself. Please call me directly with any questions about your project.
