You can create this effect really cheaply using roofing laths. Erect your posts and fix the laths horizontally with an even spacing between. Can leave natural or stain, dark brown looks good.
Hi, we have done a couple of cheaper alternatives to cedar. You obviously get what you pay for. The cedar is beautiful and for certain project cedar or oak is the most suitable timber. The first pic here is standard 2" x 1" tanalised timber, very cost effective:
We have also built and designed a lot of fences using Southern Yellow Pine which also works very well:
Hi we are looking at fencing our garden but need 50m of fencing so red cedar is looking costly. What stain did you use on the tanalised timber ? Thanks
