Don't be swerved away from hand painted tiles! The best way to add colour and originality (I make hand painted tiles so I may be biased). I would take the tiles to just under the bottom shelf, and up to the hod. We have had tiles behind our cooker for 21 years, and we don't find the grout staying clean a problem. By the way - I think subway tiles will look dated in a few years, as anything bang on trend tends to do.

Hi got new limestone stone tiles for utility room 15mm but hallway outside has already been laid and they're 10mm laid at 15mm height. I hate the look of them door divider/trim things is there any solution. Such a shame I got the thicker tile after the otges were laid. I'm meeting tiler next week can't ask him as he's on hols. Coukd yi shave down the ones closest to the point the tiles meet. Also re another can you get a thick underlay to rise laminate flooring to meet a 15mm tile?

We are renovating our bathroom and I have picked a light blue and white tiles to go in there, the tiles come in 30cm x 60 rectangular blocks. I am looking for advice on the best way to layout these tiles on the wall. The height of the room means if laid vertically you will have approx 4.5 tiles.

Hi I recently had to replace the boiler in the kitchen range. Some tiles were broken (about 7" at the front) when the range was taken out. The tiler said not to use the spares I have because the other floor tiles will chip/crack when taking up the broken ones. He suggests putting a surround. I am looking for advice/suggestions please. Please excuse the messiness! I'm under time pressure because the tiler is coming on Thursday this week. Thanks everyone
