Thanks for you question. I had the vanity unit custom made for this project in an oak veneer stained to a grey oak finish.

Love this room. What range are the floor and wall tiles? Also, what are the storage cupboards made from and what is the colour?

I think I would have one set off steps down and move the dividing presses to the side where your sink is, making it a peninsula. That would make for a nice L shaped banquette seating area where your blank wall is, and the gallery backdrop would be great there. You could also have a nice long table as opposed to the small square one. I also hope you don't mind me saying that I think you need to reconsider the placement of your hob. It's right beside a door which will be awkward and you have your back to the room when entertaining. You will have such a nice kitchen that you should make the most of it for entertaining. Even you consider putting it on the island facing the dining area?

If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!

A few things I would change from experience...instead of a single and double door I would spend the extra money and put in a bifold corner section...would open up the space so much more. as for the kitchen...completely flip your design...put your breakfast bar closer to the window...make it large and multipurpose with the hob in it and then put your main band of cabinets either left, right or behind? We have recently restructured our existing cabinets to this layout and put in new countertops and it works far better than before!

Thank you so much for your kind comments. The tiles are matt finish ceramic in a stone effect, 600 x 600 x 10 mm and suitable for walls and floors. The colour is chalk, and I supply them at £48 per meter plus delivery. Samples are available on request and I can help you calculate quantities. The overhead cupboards are made from an egger zoom laminated board, the selected finish is beige linen. The walls are painted in Farrow & Ball strong white.
