Our bath has a terrible step shelf behind the shower - which means we can't install a glass shower door. We have been using a shower curtain (and tucking in the edges). But the water still gets through and rolls down the side of the bath into the floor below. I replace the shower curtain regularly (you can see this one is at end of life!) but need a built-in solution now. Any suggestions?
Glass surround on shelf? Add plants to soak up overspray? Maybe have a carpenter extend out that wall so you can tile it flush with tub enclosure? You're right that this is a challenge. Without ripping it out, I can't see any great options. I worry that water damage over the long run would cost more than a remodel now.
