Can you attach a photo / link of the sample of the floor tile being used?

Colour and type of flooring do you have? What's the light like in the space? What sort of style do you like I.e traditional, modern. How do you want it to feel - dramatic, light and airy, warm and welcoming etc.

Love your room, we have Farrow & Ball Mizzle, its a light greyish green with Little Green Clay Mid which is really a soft white with a tiny hint of grey on skirtings and doors. That would leave you free to go for a stronger colour on the back alcove walls without 'darking' the room much. The upper sample green on your wall should match well with these colours. Colour would be easily brought (and changed) in with rug, cushions etc, HTHs

My hallway has a centre staircase and you can see the upstairs hallway from downstairs. I have dark wood furniture, but I would like something a bit different, it is a shade of cream at the moment.
