Which mirror above the fireplace?
Comments (28)Snan, The bottom oval one in Eskandari's photos would also work in your room (or something like that). The oval shape visually gives height to the room which would work for you as well. I know that shopping around can sometimes be exhausting, but if you were up for the search that would be another option if you're not sure about the round one you have already. I would also look for something that combines the elements of your wallpaper as well as your fireplace (if you are not planning on changing it) in order to bring those together, i.e. try to bring in the color tones of the two....See MoreSitting Room Help!! Comments (10)I have to agree with nudejude regarding the upholstered furniture sizes and positions. The room looks long and narrow, so placing 2 chairs or a 2 seater sofa opposite another 2 seater would allow you to enter through the door and walk, unrestricted, through to the opposite end of the room. An area rug between the sofas, large enough to fit under their front legs and perhaps a clear coffee table in glass or Perspex between would make a great conversation area. There may be enough length to the room to use a console table behind the sofa nearest the double doors with 2 small occasional chairs. A pair of lamps would provide light for the sofa and for the chairs. If the chairs are needed, they can be brought into the main conversation grouping. A Roman blind, with or without the curtains, would set off the window. Throw cushions in a variety of patterns and colour, will add interest to the upholstered pieces. Good luck and enjoy your home....See MoreMirror advice over fireplace

Comments (11)There are a thousand ways to use mirrors beautifully in a living room -- just not any old mirror in any old place, that I would agree with I think you should have art over the fireplace, and I see potential for using a scattering of small mirrors to bring light into the alcove and counterbalance the somewhat awkward angle of the TV. I'm assuming there's nowhere else to put the TV? I agree that the furniture in that corner is rather too flimsy to handle either the size of the TV or the bold black boxes of the fireplace and hearth. How about a striking floor vase? (Just resist the temptation to stick stuff in it.) https://www.etsy.com/listing/158899961/poster-geometric-print-a3-abstract-wall http://www.amazon.com/Classic-Natural-Bamboo-Floral-included/dp/B006O127GY...See More- 11 years ago
