Wood in Bathroom

Hi all,

Is it a good idea to put wood wall panelling all around the bathroom, including the wall in which the bath is attached to?
I wanted to go half way up the wall with wood, and paint the rest. But I'm afraid that wood will rot in a humid atmosphere, especially beside the bath.
It's for the master bathroom. But the bath will be used on a daily basis to wash baby.
I'm hoping someone can confirm that it's ok.

Are you speaking of a painted wainscot? If so, we have seen these used around a tub with no problem. You may want to make sure your ventilation system in the room is adequate for the size of the room.

Perfect! Yes that's exactly what I'm talking about. Thank you. I don't think we call it that here in Ireland. Any ideas of how to conceal the radiator?

If it was me, I would centre it and only silicone the back. I understand your concerns about water going down the side. Realistically, though, as you will only be washing your hands and maybe teeth in it, there is unlikely to be much water gushing about. To detract from the fact there is not as much space on either side of sink, I would have carpenter either wall mount or put legs on the cabinet so there is space underneath and the unit doesn't look too chunky!

Hi. Go to the top of the page her on houzz and type radiator covers into the search bar and then select photos from the drop down next to the search bar. I was amazed at the number of photos that came up. I am sure you would find a good solution among these.

Deborah is quick enough to say wainscoting , even I wondered for a while about a second on this ,and yes on House Ideabooks you will find many radiator cover ideas . Good Luck .
