kitchen floor dilemna

Hi have marble tiles and timber floors on my ground floor. wash them with a mop and water but dont seem to be cleaning them very good. if i have to clean up a spill later with kitchen towel towel would be dirty. any ideas how to get a clean marble floor.

I had the same problem with my slate and oak floor - no matter how well I cleaned it, a wipe with a wet paper towel showed dirty. I finally gave in and purchased a floor cleaning machine that vacuums up the wet, dirty water after it scrubs. Makes my floor cleaning task so much easier!

We are in the process of designing our new kitchen. We have decided on a white matte cabinet finish and want to put a wood panel on the kitchen island. The counter top will be a white quartz. The area is open plan with living and dining combined so we want to put wood flooring in the whole area. I am worried about the wood on the island and the flooring being mismatched. Is it best to contrast the woods on island and floor or to try and match them best as possible? Would love your opinions!!

Hi All, We are buying a new house which comes with a generic kitchen. We plan to upgrade and change colours, get a quartz countertop etc. We had our heart set on a light grey wood style floor. but my question is around what type of floor. We originally thought laminate throughout the whole downstairs, but then were put off as people were saying it was a bad idea for kitchens. Then we started thinking of wood effect tiling, but the idea of dirty grout kinda sways me away from that. Here's a rough photoshop of what we're thinking - disregard the wonky floor :) Any advice?

I'm deciding on colours for my new build kitchen. I know I want a light grey kitchen with a charcoal worktop but would a dark tile on the floor create a "sandwich" effect and make the room appear small. I can't find many photos of grey kitchens with dark worktop - are there reasons this combination is avoided? Thanks for all advice.

what blue shade would work in North facing kitchen, with a strong warm toned hardwood maple floor? I'd like to pick warm blue that's isn't too on trend. Any advice on a budget counter top replacement please? I'm thinking with a dark blue, like F&B hague Blue, or lighter like stone blue or lighter again.... without being too grey looking. Any advice greatly appreciated. we're going to get it professionally sprayed and alot paint the tiles, probably a warm white.
