Could you hang the mirror on the back of your door? You may need to get stronger hinges to cope with the weight. As for paint for the drawers, either the same colour as the wall or the colour of your existing furniture and decorate as the previous commenter suggested. God luck with it. By the way . . Will orange / Tan kitchen bar stools work with the small island here we have in our kitchen ..? I've added a picture of our dining chairs which are the same color to give an idea . Any other suggestions are welcome ..

In a year or two, we would like to renovate the kitchen/dining/living areas so I do not want to put a lot of money into the space right now... However, until that reno time comes, I would like to make a few small changes that will help modernize the space and brighten it up a bit I'm torn on what to do in this kitchen... I was thinking about staining the cabinets darker, painting the back splash tiles white & painting the walls... however... I'm a complete newbie and I'm not confident in my decisions at all. Few things to note, that table will not be there - I'm planning on getting a high, thin bar table (wood and steel) that will go above the radiator w/ 2 bar stools. I really like dark rustic & industrial design. I also don't plan on changing the flooring until reno day so I'll have to work around that as well. Any advice would be much appreciated :) Thank you!
