Hi all, help please! We've just bought a110 year cottage that had a1.5 storey extension added. The beams in the extension are all painted pillar box red and its really over-powering. We're looking at painting the entire lot, T&G boards and beams in an off-white matt satinwood (currently gloss) Without sanding, how do we prepare the wood for the top coats? Any similar projects / pictures? Also any ideas on lightning would be great but that might need to be another post!

Hello, I'm looking for a slide and stack door, approx 3 metres wide. The problem is I can't seem to find a supplier in Ireland? Any suggestions. These doors look fantastic and would be perfect for the re design and small garden space. Any help would be welcomed. Thanks Alana

My new kitchen units are due to be installed in 4 weeks and I am really struggling to decide on flooring. One wall of units will be an off white / porcelain colour and the island & a block of 3 tall units on another wall will be marine blue. Calcatta gold quartz counters and brass hardware. It's a renovation project so new has to live alongside existing kitchen dining area (oak floors- to be refinished) and black/ white victorian entrance hallway tiles. Would love opinions on two tiles we are considering or alternate suggestion please. Room is south west facing, not especially light until evening.

We are hoping to purchase this house and I'm planning ahead on the renovation. I've shared a pic of the partial red brick exterior, im trying to decide on the best option and would love some advice. Im thinking of painting / limewashing the red brick. Removing the porch. Going for a neutral colour and then maybe green / greige for the windows and door? The house needs new windows so these will have to be replaced regardless. The bay windows are also huge and I'm wondering if dividing these like the third image would be a good idea?
