1 year old boy getting his own room

Hi guys, we are moving our 1 year old boy into his own room when we decorate it! That's were I am looking for advice. I have searched and searched a lot and found a lot of good ideas. But I cannot come up with a nice design, decor or ideas that will look great. Please see attached pic of room. Any help would be grateful.

Any clue as to what direction you want to go? What colors do you have in mind? Do you want to have a theme? This room is plain vanilla right now.

do you have any furniture that will go in the room? children like primary colors better than pastels. I would have the walls off white or light beige so I could add bright colors with curtains, bedding, toys and perhaps peelable wall stickers.

fragle0 ... congratulations on the new addition to your family. Have been following your lovely changes. You probably won't have time to work on the decor for a while. Just wanted to suggest that you try pulling the nesting tables forward to be more in line with front of the chairs & placing your floor lamp to the back of them. This will give a bit more light at night for reading in that area.Also switching the plant by the fireplace & the one on the corner by the sofa.

Hi there, How about a very pale blue? I know it's for both a boy and girl but pale blue goes well with pink. If you get a bunk bed which can be split into single beds, then on the girl side you could place metallic gold stickers on the wall or pale pink and on the boys dark blue. You could get polka dot bed sheets pink for the girl, blue for the boy or go completely neutral and go for green. Place a small desk or bedside table with a nightlight on top, maybe get their names on the wall above the bed too, or a shelf on each side with their favourite items on top. So much possibilities. A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

Hi guys, no colour scheme yet! We don't have any furniture at the moment it's a blank canvas! The walls are creme brûlée (cream) it's a neutral colour so should be easy to fill room with items that have colour!
