Bora Pure problem

Hi everyone - I've recently had a Bora Pure hob installed in my new kitchen but have a problem with air escaping from directly under the fan into the cupboard below.

The supplier put me onto Bora customer care and I sent them a video as requested. I immediately got an email back with "it's an installation issue - talk to your fitter". Now, as that part of the mechanism isn't adjusted or modified in any way during installation, I can't see how it CAN be an installation issue. A call back to customer service has so far been fruitless - can anyone advise? I've spent (to me) a fortune on this hob and I feel very disappointed and fobbed off. TIA

If you have a vented hob then there is a problem with the pipework to the outside- so it’s not a hob issue.

If it’s a recirculating hob then what you are describing is normal.

It's recirculating.

Is this normal? I thought the whole point was to keep air out of the unit beneath the hob and direct it into the void behind and out through the plinth - installed as per instructions. It's escaping from directly under the fan...

I would also definitely go white if the windows are on the green wall. Will be much more natural to tie the accent wall with the stark wht contrasting walls. Always a very chic contemporary look. Also very relaxing as opposed to the treatments standing out when you already have your standout feature- the green accent wall. Great white bed you ordered! Then I love all the blue/green/ silver accent advice. I did a similar room in purples/greys/ whites and we used great posted prints of florals with a little oriental flair in nice big mats w frames. You could do florals or nice big botanicals in greens would be very fresh and modern!! White or silver frames or maybe even the shock of black would be cool.

i agree! yes those are doors to hotpress on the left so there will be dead space. Will attach those floor plans now shortly. Its definitely odd and its not sitting right with me. We are confined to a tiny space for laundry and that laundry chute on the right top corner (not pictured) is not movable to any other point. Its also supposed to be pictured as being atttatched to the ceiling above so the clothes are concealed. Its an old protected house so the window had to stay making it look very asymmetrical. Thanks for any further input! The problem is that we've already ordered the doors etc so theres no going back. Any ideas on what someone would have done had they the opportunity from scratch would be also well received! (we have loads of storage in a separate utility so this laundry is purely for clothes) Thanks in advance folks!

If the grout was supposed to be white but has come out grey then there is either an issue with the grout or this is as I described before. I certainly wouldn't use a grout pen until you have looked at cleaning the residue from it. If this is polymer residue then the grout pen would only stick to this so would probably wear off and become patchy. If there is an issue with the grout then you should speak to the manufacturer, this does happen on occasions and they will check it if they are a reputable company. Who was the grout manufacturer? Email Ceramica is the group of companies which Viva belongs to. So I suspect that this is the tile I mentioned. I know the tile as we sell it, the tile is very good quality. Speaking as a tiler with 18 years experience if the grout was grey and has come out white then it can only be the issues I have described. Cleaning should definitely be your first option.

A15) @Dara Cooke: If you can't afford a quartz or granite worktop from day one then I would recommend using a laminate worktop as a temporary solution. If you don't put tiles up as a backsplash then replacing the worktops can be relatively easy in a couple of years.

So you are saying the exhaust is pointed into the cupboard not the void behind the cupboard? It still sounds like an installation issue.

No that's not what I'm saying at all. The exhaust is pointed (and correctly sealed) at the cutout which leads to the void behind the cupboard. The air is coming from directly under the fan which is nowhere near the exhaust - I can't see how this would be an installation issue.

Hi Seren71, is the filter box securely fitted tight to the back panel? &is the back panel cut as per the template provided in the box? as per this video Pure recirc install video

Hi Luke, yes to both of those.

Here’s a picture which may help. The air is escaping from the highlighted area. Is there something you can see from this set up that’s not right or needs adjusting? Thanks very much.
