“Cheryl and her team did curtains for our farmhouse renovation; Roman blinds in kitchen, toilet, study, living room. Curtains in master and spare bedroom. Large drapes in apex windows / bifold doors of sunroom. I can’t rate her highly enough. She is patient and thoughtful in the design process. Her workmanship is excellent and her aftercare fab. 10/10 from me!”

“Was looking blinds for my new house, but as I have a little boy I was concerned about safety. I also didn't want the type of ones I remember my grandmother having. I came across BlocBlinds online and was amazed at the choice of blinds that they had. I was even more amazed at the blinds that allow you to change the colour as I get bored with the decor quickly! Measured up myself using the online guide and purchased online- quick, easy and the result has been great - considering I'm the one doing the DIY I found them surprisingly easy to fit!!! 100% Value for money and next time I get bored with the decor and fancy a change I can just order the material to change it and not have to replace the full blind!”

When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
