“I hired Tammy originally about 10 years ago to do my entire new home in McKenzie Lake, I had several other quotes so knew what to expect.., what I did not expect was not only the lowest prices but a level of professionalism beyond anything I had ever had. She is meticulous, knowledgable on products offered and makes sure you are 100% happy... which is not hard to do when the quality and service is so outstanding.. We were so impressed we had Tammy custom make all of the drapes throughout as well as matching duvets for the children's room.....absolutely fantastic and again prices that simply cannot be matched. She does mainly word of mouth advertising and I now know why.....She was the only one we called when we moved a couple of years later into our new home and again she surpassed our expectations... When choosing curtains, consider their function, whether for privacy, light blocking, or decor enhancement. Take into account the room’s style, choosing curtains that complement the overall decor in terms of colour, pattern, and fabric texture. Measure the window accurately to ensure the curtains are the right size and length, considering whether you prefer floor-length or sill-length curtains. Select curtain fabrics based on light-blocking abilities, durability, and ease of cleaning.
In general, your curtains width should be double the width of your windows. For length, this depends on if you want floor length, sill length curtains or below sill. For sill length curtains, they should sit 1cm above the windowsill. Below length curtains generally sit around 15cm under the sill. For floor length curtains, ensure there is at least a 1cm gap between them and the floor. If your window has a radiator underneath it, the curtains should stop around 2-3cm above the radiator to avoid heat being absorbed by the curtain.
Simply measure from where you want your blinds to start (the rail), to where you want your blinds to finish. Add 10-15 cms to this to prevent light bleed. To ensure your blinds fit correctly, take measurements at 3 equal points across your window and use the longest size.
