Each room in the home has its own feeling and use. The husband’s office is very masculine and the wife’s boudoir is perfectly pink and also functions so that she can do her seamstress work and have office space. It even has guest space with the sleeper sofa as well. The house truly reflects the personalities of our clients, while meeting the couples day-to-day needs. While having a very modern and sophisticated style, the 4 story townhome is very colorful and vibrant to suit our client’s funky style!
Horizon Interior Design
Amy didn’t feel her office reflected her personality or style, or coordinated with the other updates made on the main floor of her home. She wanted an office that was pretty, felt inviting and comfortable for her to do office work, read or knit. She also wanted to provide seating for others to relax in the room with her and areas to display family photos, décor and house electronics. Painted in a subtle yet beautiful blush color, new life was breathed into the room. A desk and file cabinet with accents of antiqued mirrors added sparkle to the work area. A cozy desk chair, custom lounge chairs and an ottoman created with feminine fabrics provided comfortable seating. The matching bookcases hid unsightly electronics and cords and provided a landing place for treasured photos. The walls were adorned with a tapestry and framed art to add colors and textures, with the seating area grounded by a silver rug. The room was completed with florals to add that soft organic element to tie in the beautiful gardens that surround the home.
Modern & Contemporary Interior Design
Once a dark, almost claustrophobic wooden box, I used modern colors and strong pieces with an industrial edge to bring light and functionality to this jewelers home studio.
The blush works so magically with the charcoal grey on the walls and the furnishings stand up to the burly workbench which takes pride of place in the room. The blush doubles down and acts as a feminine edge on an otherwise very masculine room. The addition of greenery and gold accents on frames, plant stands and the mirror help that along and also lighten and soften the whole space.
