ONE eleven ltd.We developed a design that fully met the desires of a spacious, airy, light filled home incorporating Universal Design features that blend seamlessly adding beauty to the Minimalist Scandinavian concept.
Courtney Thomas DesignWe planned a thoughtful redesign of this beautiful home while retaining many of the existing features. We wanted this house to feel the immediacy of its environment. So we carried the exterior front entry style into the interiors, too, as a way to bring the beautiful outdoors in. In addition, we added patios to all the bedrooms to make them feel much bigger. Luckily for us, our temperate California climate makes it possible for the patios to be used consistently throughout the year.
The original kitchen design did not have exposed beams, but we decided to replicate the motif of the 30" living room beams in the kitchen as well, making it one of our favorite details of the house. To make the kitchen more functional, we added a second island allowing us to separate kitchen tasks. The sink island works as a food prep area, and the bar island is for mail, crafts, and quick snacks.
We designed the primary bedroom as a relaxation sanctuary – something we highly recommend to all parents. It features some of our favorite things: a cognac leather reading chair next to a fireplace, Scottish plaid fabrics, a vegetable dye rug, art from our favorite cities, and goofy portraits of the kids.

Five SextillionThe brief was to create a Guest Shower room which would predominantly be used as a cloakroom.
We chose bold glossy bottle green glazed and chalky white tiling, textured vinyl wall covering, light timber vanity and brushed steel brassware.
A key feature is the stunning natural pebble washbasin with a polished interior and contrasting rough exterior for a spa like feel.
We also created a cupboard at the end of the shower and fitted a Steadyrack bike rack which stores our client's commuter bike in an upright position when not in use.
BANDD DESIGNWe designed this bathroom remodel to be a modern, bright, and polished space. We started with a light, soothing color palette and two large mirrors to create an open, airy vibe. Modern sconces and striking lighting add a sophisticated touch. And finally, a beautiful tub creates a relaxing, luxurious, spa-like appeal to the space.

Cathie Hong InteriorsOur clients decided to take their childhood home down to the studs and rebuild into a contemporary three-story home filled with natural light. We were struck by the architecture of the home and eagerly agreed to provide interior design services for their kitchen, three bathrooms, and general finishes throughout. The home is bright and modern with a very controlled color palette, clean lines, warm wood tones, and variegated tiles.
eat.bathe.liveOur Armadale residence was a converted warehouse style home for a young adventurous family with a love of colour, travel, fashion and fun. With a brief of “artsy”, “cosmopolitan” and “colourful”, we created a bright modern home as the backdrop for our Client’s unique style and personality to shine. Incorporating kitchen, family bathroom, kids bathroom, master ensuite, powder-room, study, and other details throughout the home such as flooring and paint colours.

Bella Vie InteriorsThis classic Queenslander home in Red Hill, was a major renovation and therefore an opportunity to meet the family’s needs. With three active children, this family required a space that was as functional as it was beautiful, not forgetting the importance of it feeling inviting.
The resulting home references the classic Queenslander in combination with a refined mix of modern Hampton elements.
Studio C Kitchen & Bath, LLCThe clients asked for a master bath with a ranch style, tranquil spa feeling. The large master bathroom has two separate spaces; a bath tub/shower room and a spacious area for dressing, the vanity, storage and toilet. The floor in the wet room is a pebble mosaic. The walls are large porcelain, marble looking tile. The main room has a wood-like porcelain, plank tile.

And it’s probably good to consider your flooring or surfaces, and walls to make sure everything will complement. When it comes to flooring, tiles will be durable, easy to clean and deal well with water, but if you want something different you could go with modern concrete, traditional or country-style treated wooden floorboards, or a bit more quirky bamboo, cork or vinyl. The best small bathroom ideas will maximise the space you have. From installing a bidet to simple decorative tips there are plenty of things you can do to make it look bigger. Recessed shelves can make a huge difference both visually and practically to small bathrooms, so if you are able to have these installed when your walls are being renovated you could add some to your shower or sink area. You could choose pale colours and iridescent tiles that reflect the light, keep walls and ceilings the same colour and texture, and use complementary shades throughout the bathroom– fewer contrasts and transitions will help maintain the sense of space. Floating bathroom units also draw the eye to visible floor space underneath them, and clear glass shower screens will keep the room feeling open and airy. Finishing touches like artfully placed large mirrors will also make small bathrooms appear more expansive.1
