Small bath in Marina del Rey

During the remodeling of this bathroom in a 1930’s bungalow, the existing narrow door opening required the removal of the cast iron tub by breaking it into small pieces and throwing them out the window. A frameless glass shower replaces the old tub, is lined in 1” glass mosaic tile and has a bench and wall niche finished in slab marble. The marble bench seat extends through the glass to create a side shelf next to the toilet. To accommodate entry door and shower door swings in the narrow width space, the countertop steps back at each end, allowing for a deeper vanity centered below. Floor tiles are 4 x 4 tumbled marble throughout. Stephen Mark Johnston
