NYC Apartment for Art Collector

The subdued neoclassicism continues in the bedroom. Paintings in this room have a more restful palette than those in the living room, and include snowscapes. So we used neutral tones for the fabric and carpet. The headboard and bedspread are faux suede, and the spread is quilted in a diamond pattern that echoes the carpet. The glass-fronted cabinet houses the only thing other than his art collection that our client brought with him from his old home — a beautiful leather-covered collection of the works of William Shakespeare that he inherited from his father. The headboard and bedspread are faux suede, and the spread is quilted in a diamond pattern that echoes the carpet. Two small paintings in the hallway are given more importance by the Louis XVI style table, on which rests a classical bust. The black Chinese tea-caddy and the black banding on the table pick up the shadows in the paintings.
