Night and Day Kitchen Remodel
The previous owner had a love affair with textured grays over both sculpted plaster and wood which was further exacerbated by a lack of natural light. The house, surrounded by trees, is great for passive cooling, but not so great for brightening up a dark space! The new owners wished to remove the gray carpet and cabinetry, paint over the gray walls, and lighten up the dark ceilings and ambiance. We demolished a powder bath and relocated it to an exterior wall, with access to the pool. We rotated the focus of the kitchen from the dreary gray walls, to the freshly painted great room and breakfast area. A subtle but prevalent lighting plan, light-colored granite and a fun combination of stained and painted cabinetry make this kitchen remodel as different as night and day!
