Rancho Santa Fe Refresh - Master Bathroom and Laundry

In our master bathroom, we wanted to refresh the design without changing the cabinetry or layout. Every piece of tile in this beautiful Santa Barbara-style home is intentional and unique. Starting with a unique floral tile that runs across the bathroom wall into the shower, where it meets our featured green subway tile laid in a herringbone pattern. The heated bathroom floor is a mix and match of different colored hexagons that pull colors from the shower wall and the floral design. The newly chosen hardware is umbrio, a bronze finish with prominent copper highlights, and our plumbing fixtures are venetian bronze to match. The mirrors were reused and painted black to go with our backsplash. And last but not least a beautiful copper bathtub to bring it all together.

New Moroccan Villa on the Santa Barbara Riviera, overlooking the Pacific ocean and the city. In this terra cotta and deep blue home, we used natural stone mosaics and glass mosaics, along with custom carved stone columns. Every room is colorful with deep, rich colors. In the master bath we used blue stone mosaics on the groin vaulted ceiling of the shower. All the lighting was designed and made in Marrakesh, as were many furniture pieces. The entry black and white columns are also imported from Morocco. We also designed the carved doors and had them made in Marrakesh. Cabinetry doors we designed were carved in Canada. The carved plaster molding were made especially for us, and all was shipped in a large container (just before covid-19 hit the shipping world!) Thank you to our wonderful craftsman and enthusiastic vendors! Project designed by Maraya Interior Design. From their beautiful resort town of Ojai, they serve clients in Montecito, Hope Ranch, Santa Ynez, Malibu and Calabasas, across the tri-county area of Santa Barbara, Ventura and Los Angeles, south to Hidden Hills and Calabasas. Stuart Wade, Envision Web The scenic and enjoyable Lake Chatuge, located between Hayesville, North Carolina and Hiawassee, Georgia, is a man-made lake created by the Tennessee Valley Authority in the early 1940’s as part of a project that would provide badly needed electricity to the southeast, especially in light of the defense industry’s need for a source of power during the war efforts. In addition to the benefit of electrical power, the jobs created by the building of the dam helped the local economy, which was certainly struggling in the post-Depression era. Construction took only about a year, but it was not without its difficulties. While the promise of electricity offered much to the residents, many of them had to give up treasured family farmland, which would soon be under water when the land was flooded. In fact, roughly 7200 acres between Towns and Clay counties were inundated. Some families and churches relocated their buildings, while others left altogether because of the dam. These events are easily recalled by those old enough to remember the coming of the dam. Furthermore, a play by Tom DeTitta called The Reach of Song commemorates the coming of the TVA to the area and chronicles the story of southern Appalachia in a musical format that was named the State Historic Drama in 1990 by the Georgia State Legislature. The completed dam, which is 144 feet high and 2,850 feet across, now operates for a variety of purposes, including flood damage reduction, power generation, and augmentation of water flows for navigation downstream, according to the TVA. Nowadays, residents and visitors alike delight in the 132 miles of shoreline, reveling in the beauty afforded by the area. With everything from sport fishing to boating to camping and swimming, Lake Chatuge offers something for everyone.

This is actually a Modern Spanish style homes, ( category not listed). When developer called our design firm to help them with designing and selecting finishes for this beautiful 5000 square-foot house, we were so excited to be able to keep the tradition of a Spanish style home nestled in the foothills overlooking the entire valley of Los Angeles. The master bath had to be centered around a soaking tub, so we built a platform and position the vanities around it. A 9 foot walk-in shower is the perfect accompaniment across from the tub, and when you’re done in the master en suite you can walk to the bedroom out the French doors to watch the sunset setting On the downtown Los Angeles skyscrapers
