D.R. Long, Architect + AssociatesClose up of Great Room first floor fireplace and bar areas. Exposed brick from the original boiler room walls was restored and cleaned. The boiler room chimney was re-purposed for installation of new gas fireplaces on the main floor and mezzanine. The original concrete floor was covered with new wood framing and wood flooring, fully insulated with foam.

Pineapple House Interior DesignThis 5 BR, 5.5 BA residence was conceived, built and decorated within six months. Designed for use by multiple parties during simultaneous vacations and/or golf retreats, it offers five master suites, all with king-size beds, plus double vanities in private baths. Fabrics used are highly durable, like indoor/outdoor fabrics and leather. Sliding glass doors in the primary gathering area stay open when the weather allows.

Lanai DoorsLanai Doors are a beautiful alternative to sliding glass doors. Folding glass doors open completely to one side allowing for the living room & dining room to open up to the outside.
Shuster Design AssociatesThe Florida room bar seen from the kitchen. Divided from the house via ceiling to floor sliding glass doors, the entire room opens to the exterior via accordion style glass doors so it can be used as either an indoor or outdoor space.
AJ Margulis InteriorsThe clients bought a new construction house in Bay Head, NJ with an architectural style that was very traditional and quite formal, not beachy. For our design process I created the story that the house was owned by a successful ship captain who had traveled the world and brought back furniture and artifacts for his home. The furniture choices were mainly based on English style pieces and then we incorporated a lot of accessories from Asia and Africa. The only nod we really made to “beachy” style was to do some art with beach scenes and/or bathing beauties (original painting in the study) (vintage series of black and white photos of 1940’s bathing scenes, not shown) ,the pillow fabric in the family room has pictures of fish on it , the wallpaper in the study is actually sand dollars and we did a seagull wallpaper in the downstairs bath (not shown).
