Living Room - Manchester

Our client gave us brief which entailed maximising the entire space including all the unused nooks. To the left hand side of the fireplace, there was an odd angled corner which was neither use nor ornament so we built the log store, plastered it to form part of the wall, added the cornice and skirting and painted to blend it into the adjacent walls. The overall size of the room was quite vast which lent itself to large pieces of furniture to give the client the cosy, welcoming feel the space now has. The ottoman was designed and made by our team. Sat on hidden feet with deep buttoning and pewter studs, with a structured surface to allow for multifunctional use as a footstool and coffee table. The tables, sofas, wall lights and shades were made to order. The sofa was layered with bespoke cushions in velvets, linens and silks for a textured look. Due to the length of the room, the opposite end to the fireplace looked a bit bland so we designed and hand made the floor to ceiling bookcase which was built around the original doorway into the kitchen. We replaced the internal doors for glazed French to compliment the style and look of the bookcase. This feature is now a striking focal point in the room.
