A very traditional kitchen in a beautiful Georgian home. The kitchen was designed around the Aga and an antique table as the focal points. The client wanted a calm and elegant space which felt as if it belonged to the house. The very simple cabinetry with no modern appliances on show creates a harmonious space, perfect for entertaining and family life. The traditional brass ironmongery and taps will age beautifully, as will the stunning marble tops and splashback. The shelf adds space for displaying treasured possessions and hides some practical lighting for the worktops. The modern fridge freezer is hidden in an old walk in pantry which provides space for food storage as well. The wall units which surround an existing archway to the snug form the perfect space for storing glassware and crockery.

The mixture of grey green cabinets with the distressed wood floors and ceilings, gives this farmhouse kitchen a feeling of warmth. Cabinets: Brookhaven and the color is Green Stone Benjamin Moore paint color: There's not an exact match for Green Stone, but Gettysburg Grey, HC 107 is close. My client is brilliant , so he did some googling (is that a word?) and came across several sites that had a recipe to do just that. He put a steel wool pad into a jar of vinegar and let it sit for a bit. In another jar, he mixed black tea with water. Brush the tea on first and let it dry. This kitchen originally had a long island that the owners needed to walk around to access the butler’s pantry, which was a major reason for the renovation. The island was separated in order to have a better traffic flow – with one island for cooking with a prep sink and the second offering seating and storage. 2″ thick mitered honed Stuario Gold marble countertops are accented by soft satin brass hardware, while the backsplash is a unique jet-cut white marble in an arabesque pattern. The perimeter inset cabinetry is painted a soft white. while the islands are a warm grey. The window wall features a 5-foot-long stone farm sink with two faucets, while a 60″ range and two full 30″ ovens are located on the opposite wall. A custom hood with elegant, gentle sloping lines is embellished with a hammered antique brass collar and antique pewter rivets.
