This 120 year old one room stone cabin features real rock walls and fireplace in a simple rectangle with real handscraped exposed beams. Old concrete floor, from who knows when? The stainless steel kitchen is new, everything is under counter, there are no upper cabinets at all. Antique butcher block sits on stainless steel cabinet, and an old tire chain found on the old farm is the hanger for the cooking utensils. Concrete counters and sink. This adorable couple has spent a lifetime making other peoples homes around San Diego feel special through their inspired and delightful placement of natural plants for interior, creating each space in which they live, work, and play. They have also made their home an oasis where anyone visiting feels comfortable and yet excited by all the beautiful flowers and planting everywhere around their home. We were honored to be selected to help Andrea and Winston bring the heart of their home to life. When you have waited for years to have the kitchen of your dreams you want everything you could have possibility thought about. One thing the client wanted was when she walked into the front door of your home was to feel like she was not looking into her kitchen. We achieved that by creating a breakfast bar section with a distressed grayish green cabinetry.

You can also look at corner drawers and cupboards that open up to reveal lots of extra storage. Rails or small shelves along your kitchen walls or splashback can help with hanging utensils or pans, or storing small items like herbs and spices in an usually empty space. If you’re working with a galley kitchen, a one-wall kitchen in an open plan space or just a pretty small kitchen, there are some small kitchen ideas that can help you get the most out of your cooking and dining area. Wall or ceiling racks could be a useful solution for hanging pans and pots if you’ve run out of cupboards in which to store them. Kitchen ideas and accessories such as baskets, trolleys and storage jars are both aesthetically pleasing and practical as they give you extra storage space. Kitchen appliances like a fridge or dishwasher can be tucked away in built-in units in fitted kitchens so they blend into your layout and don’t make the space look crowded.
