We cannot take credit for the expansive 40-year old oak that shades the driveway and wraps the home in privacy. The owners credit the squirrels! Established tree canopy like this is literally priceless - it adds value to the Retreat, and also neighboring homes.

Nestled in lively East London, our clients owned a compact garden with established jungle planting. With a planning permit to build a contemporary ground floor extension, they were keen to have a picture-perfect garden to admire from their bifold doors. Having recently acquired two Spanish Greyhounds, the garden needed to be a dog-friendly zone that retained a jungle-like feel. We played on angles and perspectives to give this petite space the illusion of depth.

This dilapidated courtyard was completely overhauled. We tore down existing faulty walls and install brand new cinderblock walls, finish them with stucco and cat them with blue stone. The wall was topped off with custom planter boxes that complement the ones at ground level. A custom fire feature was ordered to extend the clients enjoyment of the space. At night time the garden is uplift with the fire feature and in wall lights. MGH Gardens selected the custom furniture. The planter boxes incorporated annuals evergreens and perennials to provide here around round interest. The client now enjoys a spectacular view from the interior.
Native Edge Landscape
These homeowners were looking to up their hosting game by modernizing their property to create the ultimate entertainment space. A custom outdoor kitchen was added with a top of the line Delta Heat grill and a special nook for a Big Green Egg. Flagstone was added to create asymmetrical walkways throughout the yard that extended into a ring around the fire pit. Four rectangular trellises were added along the fence and shed, with an all metal pergola located at the back of the pool. This unique structure immediately draws the eye and adds a playful, artistic element to the rest of the space. The use of various sized rocks, gravel, and flagstone give a rough texture that creates a symbiosis with the metalwork. Silver Falls Dichondra creates a beautiful contrast to the rocks and can be found all over the property along with various other grasses, ferns, and agave. A large area of gravel rests on the side of the house, giving the client room to park a recreational vehicle. In front, a privacy fence was added along one of the property lines, leading into a drought resistant, eco-friendly section of yard. This fence, coupled with a giant boulder, doubles as a safety precaution in case drivers miss the turn and run into their lawn. This updated landscaping adds an effortless flow for guests to move from the front yard to the back while creating a very open, welcoming feel to all who enter.

The Garden Trellis Company
At the end of 2020, The Garden Trellis Co finished work on a very large-scale house renovation project commissioned by London Projects. Working from the designer’s initial sketches, we custom built, delivered and installed joinery including trellis, gates, illusion panels, arch-work and a utility shed.
James Gee was the GTC Project Manager assigned, working with the GTC team on the project from tender stage, to then coordinating with the contractors QS and site management, the landscaper, garden designer, and the architect.
James said “This was a particularly exciting project as Wilbraham House is a very prestigious house, and the garden is huge and has shared boundaries with around 12 different properties. I can’t wait to see it when the garden is complete and planted (probably by Spring 2021) it will be amazing!”
