Client requested help with floorplan layout, furniture selection and decorating in this cute Swiss rental. A mid century aesthetic is fresh and keeps the space from being a ski cliche. It is a rental so major pieces like the fireplace could not be changed.

Designing and fitting a #tinyhouse inside a shipping container, 8ft (2.43m) wide, 8.5ft (2.59m) high, and 20ft (6.06m) length, is one of the most challenging tasks we've undertaken, yet very satisfying when done right.
We had a great time designing this #tinyhome for a client who is enjoying the convinience of travelling is style.

Originally designed as a screened-in porch, the sunroom enclosure was reclad in wood and stone to unify with the rest of the house. New windows and sliding doors reinforce connections with the outdoors.

This new house is located in a quiet residential neighborhood developed in the 1920’s, that is in transition, with new larger homes replacing the original modest-sized homes. The house is designed to be harmonious with its traditional neighbors, with divided lite windows, and hip roofs. The roofline of the shingled house steps down with the sloping property, keeping the house in scale with the neighborhood. The interior of the great room is oriented around a massive double-sided chimney, and opens to the south to an outdoor stone terrace and garden. Photo by: Nat Rea Photography

This lengthy, rectangular family room was made more inviting by 'mirror image' settings, including double light fixture, double cocktail table, and duplicate sofa & chair combinations.

A stair tower provides a focus form the main floor hallway. 22 foot high glass walls wrap the stairs which also open to a two story family room. A wide fireplace wall is flanked by recessed art niches.

This 1960s home was in original condition and badly in need of some functional and cosmetic updates. We opened up the great room into an open concept space, converted the half bathroom downstairs into a full bath, and updated finishes all throughout with finishes that felt period-appropriate and reflective of the owner's Asian heritage.

This open concept living room features a mono stringer floating staircase, 72" linear fireplace with a stacked stone and wood slat surround, white oak floating shelves with accent lighting, and white oak on the ceiling.
Drewett Works
Adding a level of organic nature to his work, C.P. Drewett used wood to calm the architecture down on this contemporary house and make it more elegant. A wood ceiling and custom furnishings with walnut bases and tapered legs suit the muted tones of the living room.
