Their family expanded, and so did their home! After nearly 30 years residing in the same home they raised their children, this wonderful couple made the decision to tear down the walls and create one great open kitchen family room and dining space, partially expanding 10 feet out into their backyard. The result: a beautiful open concept space geared towards family gatherings and entertaining.

Despite the stark white color of this sofa, it's low profile and relaxed style invites nothing short of lounging. A braided rug and low, light wood coffee table add to the casual, California vibe. A pair of leather swivel chairs and a mid-century console bring in some rich earth tones. A dark, albiet not heavy light fixture draws the eyes up and adds an element of drama to the room. Patterned throw pillows break up the white sofa and pull in the palette from the rest of the home.

Conceptually the Clark Street remodel began with an idea of creating a new entry. The existing home foyer was non-existent and cramped with the back of the stair abutting the front door. By defining an exterior point of entry and creating a radius interior stair, the home instantly opens up and becomes more inviting. From there, further connections to the exterior were made through large sliding doors and a redesigned exterior deck. Taking advantage of the cool coastal climate, this connection to the exterior is natural and seamless

This family/hearth room is just off the magnificent kitchen and is home to an updated look of its own. New hardwood flooring, lighting and mantle and the background for the custom furniture and window treatments. The family now spends most of its time here.

This living room addition is open to the renovated kitchen and has generous-sized sliding doors leading to a new flagstone patio. The gas fireplace has a honed black granite surround and painted wood mantel. The ceiling is painted v-groove planking. A window seat with storage runs along the rear wall.
