Formal Drawing room

Our clients appointed us to design an elegant interior for their formal entertaining. The room originally comprised of two areas which had been combined to create a large open plan formal drawing room. Keeping in mind the beautiful existing wall panelling chosen by the clients, we introduced more panelling above the dado rail. Subsequently, we commissioned antique mirrors and bespoke artwork to fit within the larger plaster panels. As a result, we created a space where the two original areas were seamlessly unified and therefore restored to a sense of former grandeur. To heighten the formality of the room, we wrapped the walls in pastel colours. Moreover, we added a beautiful silk texture within the panels and further accented it all with touches of rich golds that hold your attention throughout the room. A key part of our brief was providing as much seating as possible for formal gatherings. In order to accommodate this, we introduced a bespoke corner sofa next to two comfortable armchairs. Additionally, we positioned two large sofas flanking the fireplace to create a more intimate area. In order to deliver carefully edited aesthetic for this formal drawing room, our team of designers procured a curated selection of key accessories. Driven by a painstaking attention to detail, we commissioned the cabinetry doors to be wrapped in silk wallpaper. A bespoke metal finish introduced as a trim on the doors added extra interest to the whitewash finish of the joinery. Last but not least, we introduced a narrow console and two exquisite table lamps, magically bouncing the light on the mirror positioned above. The perfect touch to further enhance the formality and luxury of the space.
