Flemming Park
This bannister was created out of need for contemporary design without the fussiness that most handrail companies were offering to the public at the time. Much of the selection was wrought iron stiles with cherry or Oak hand runs.
My wife and and I were on vacation in Vancouver and came across a gorgeous older house on Burrard Street which had a newly finished historic front porch. The porch had this amazing design for a safety rail and with a few snaps and close ups the design was captured on camera and reinterpreted for the hand-rail design in Flemming Park.
The wood was milled-down 2X4 Spruce stock available at most home improvement centres; painted and then coated with a nice finish for ease of cleaning.
