Ealing Front Garden

After years of neglect this West London front garden required a complete overhaul to create the warm welcome the house deserved. Plank pavers, in various grey tones, were staggered to create a strong visual framework. The pattern was inspired by details in the house's exterior brickwork. The simple colour palette was inspired by some of the surrounding properties white rendered exteriors. Shape and colour taken from the surroundings firmly cemented the garden in its place while standing out for all the right reasons. Against the strong geometry of the pavers, the planting was more exuberant. Erigeron karvinskianus and creeping thyme were allowed to spread at will, while a cloud of umbellifers danced at the window.
