Directoire Style (1795-1799)

HAUSSMANN: In 1853, during the second empire, Napoleon III made Georges Haussmann (1809-1891) Prefect of the Seine. He was commissioned to instigate a program of planning reform in Paris. He designed wide, tree lined elegant Boulevards and became famous for his “culte de l’axe” graphics. In the same spirit, the Haussmann collection based on the Directoire style offers sophisticated boldness in perfect harmony with today’s life style: sober and refined designs in the audacious new Grange “chrome finish” to create refined, original pieces.
