Rochelle Cote Interior DesignFrom 2020 to 2022 we had the opportunity to work with this wonderful client building in Altadore. We were so fortunate to help them build their family dream home. They wanted to add some fun pops of color and make it their own. So we implemented green and blue tiles into the bathrooms. The kitchen is extremely fashion forward with open shelves on either side of the hoodfan, and the wooden handles throughout. There are nodes to mid century modern in this home that give it a classic look. Our favorite details are the stair handrail, and the natural flagstone fireplace. The fun, cozy upper hall reading area is a reader’s paradise. This home is both stylish and perfect for a young busy family.
Projet Wabi-sabiUne belle et grande maison de l’Île Saint Denis, en bord de Seine. Ce qui aura constitué l’un de mes plus gros défis ! Madame aime le pop, le rose, le batik, les 50’s-60’s-70’s, elle est tendre, romantique et tient à quelques références qui ont construit ses souvenirs de maman et d’amoureuse. Monsieur lui, aime le minimalisme, le minéral, l’art déco et les couleurs froides (et le rose aussi quand même!). Tous deux aiment les chats, les plantes, le rock, rire et voyager. Ils sont drôles, accueillants, généreux, (très) patients mais (super) perfectionnistes et parfois difficiles à mettre d’accord ?
Et voilà le résultat : un mix and match de folie, loin de mes codes habituels et du Wabi-sabi pur et dur, mais dans lequel on retrouve l’essence absolue de cette démarche esthétique japonaise : donner leur chance aux objets du passé, respecter les vibrations, les émotions et l’intime conviction, ne pas chercher à copier ou à être « tendance » mais au contraire, ne jamais oublier que nous sommes des êtres uniques qui avons le droit de vivre dans un lieu unique. Que ce lieu est rare et inédit parce que nous l’avons façonné pièce par pièce, objet par objet, motif par motif, accord après accord, à notre image et selon notre cœur. Cette maison de bord de Seine peuplée de trouvailles vintage et d’icônes du design respire la bonne humeur et la complémentarité de ce couple de clients merveilleux qui resteront des amis. Des clients capables de franchir l’Atlantique pour aller chercher des miroirs que je leur ai proposés mais qui, le temps de passer de la conception à la réalisation, sont sold out en France. Des clients capables de passer la journée avec nous sur le chantier, mètre et niveau à la main, pour nous aider à traquer la perfection dans les finitions. They entrusted us with the task of adjusting the layout to meet their needs and infusing the space with a palette inspired by Long Island Sound – consisting of light wood, neutral stones and tile, expansive windows and unique lighting accents. The result is an inviting space for entertaining and relaxing alike, blending modern aesthetics with warmth seamlessly.
KB DesignThe clients summer vacation home had an extra large walk-in closet in the primary bedroom. Since the room did not have an attached bathroom, and an oversized closet wasn't necessary with it being a seasonal home and having an excess of storage elsewhere- we decided to use the space to create a Primary Suite. The client picked a wonderful blue palette that compliments the views of the lake outside so perfectly. We added a custom double vanity with plenty of storage, a large, glass walk-in shower and lots of pretty details she picked out in all the tile work.

The journey continues towards the shower area, where your eye is drawn to the striking charcoal subway tiles. Clearly, these tiles add a modern edge to the shower’s back wall. Alongside, a built-in ledge subtly integrates lighting, adding both functionality and a touch of ambiance.
The shower’s side walls continue the narrative of the maple ribbon tiles from the main bathroom area. Definitely, their warm hues against the cool charcoal subway tiles create a visual contrast that’s both appealing and invigorating.
Beautiful Details
Adding to the seamless design is a sleek glass sliding shower door. Apart from this, this transparent element allows light to flow freely, enhancing the overall brightness of the space. In addition, a bronze handheld shower head complements the other bronze elements in the room, tying the design together beautifully.
Underfoot, you’ll find luxurious tile flooring. Furthermore, this material not only adds to the room’s opulence but also provides a durable, easy-to-maintain surface.

Story LLCOur clients wanted to add on to their 1950's ranch house, but weren't sure whether to go up or out. We convinced them to go out, adding a Primary Suite addition with bathroom, walk-in closet, and spacious Bedroom with vaulted ceiling. To connect the addition with the main house, we provided plenty of light and a built-in bookshelf with detailed pendant at the end of the hall. The clients' style was decidedly peaceful, so we created a wet-room with green glass tile, a door to a small private garden, and a large fir slider door from the bedroom to a spacious deck. We also used Yakisugi siding on the exterior, adding depth and warmth to the addition. Our clients love using the tub while looking out on their private paradise!
Sheila Rich Interiors, LLCA simple, clean and fresh look was created in this remodeled achromatic guest bathroom (see Before photo). The vanity area was enlarged for a bigger vanity. The new black and white achromatic color scheme includes 4 coordinated tiles: gray subway tile, no-skid river rock on the shower floor, a patterned porcelain floor tile, and an interesting basket-weave tile surrounding mirror. The room is enhanced with line drawings of 3 different flowers. Black matte hardware and trim on the sliding shower doors offer contrast and complete the look.
