Father's Day Extravaganza! 19 Glorious Man Spaces by Houzzers
Guitars, beer, games and sports memorabilia fill these unabashedly masculine rooms for men of all ages and tastes
To celebrate Father's Day, we asked you to show us your man spaces. We got dozens of responses, most of which made us want to plug in an electric guitar and rock out while drinking a hoppy microbrew. Here are 19 of those spaces, each with its own style and sophistication. (Seriously, the brewery setups you all sent photos of are simply mind-boggling. Feel free to use us as guinea pigs for any beer taste tests.)
There's not really one thing that defines a man space. Sometimes it's the collection of sports or hobby memorabilia; sometimes it's the sheer amount of noise and mess involved. At other times a man cave is actually defined by a loving and supporting wife, girlfriend or significant other. And for that last one, we men thank all you supportive partners.

"The cork floor does a great job of dampening the reflective nature of bricks," Brinton says. "A drum set, TV, stereo, various amps and music memorabilia round out the space. It's wonderful to have an understanding wife!"
The colorful collection of classic records displayed in skbenhall husband's office works beautifully.
Cjdevine turned this garage shop into a music-focused man cave that Freddie Mercury would be proud of.
From Realstone Systems: "Every husband has a need for a man cave. Whether it be to watch the game, enjoy a stout or have a jam session. Just don't forget to invite the wife sometimes; ladies like these things too!"
Here a stone wall doubles as soundproofing and cool design accent.

Sometimes a small space where he can make some big noise is all a man needs. Doug Schneller glorifies that with his music cave.
"Well, when it comes to man caves, my husband seems to have the musician/guitar room conquered!" says militarytvgirl. "I say that he has GAS (guitar acquisition syndrome)."
Photos of militarytvgirl's husband with Neal Schon of Journey hang above his many amps. "He loves his man cave! I love my man!" she writes. "So I'm happy he has his stuff! Do you realize that I would be able to remodel the whole house if he sold all of his guitars!!!!!!!!!."
From summilux: "Not so much a man cave as a perch, this upstairs area is large and has lots of window light in contrast to my small and dark woodshop. The audio system allows for background music and is of adequate quality to allow for listening as the primary activity."
This is "my much-altered office desk, which has been with me for 35 years [and] has plenty of room for matting photos and art," summilux says. "A scissors lift table provides additional work surface at sitting and standing height; [it] also serves at times as a side table for the small sofa."
"The standing-height work area is my digital darkroom," summilux continues. "That section of the room is where I have framed photos of my side of the family and a large magnet board for unframed photos."
"The large framed Paris–Brest–Paris poster is a souvenir of doing that ride in 2007 and reflects another lifelong interest: bicycling," summilux says. "There is also a partitioned area which serves as our bedroom. Otherwise, we would have probably had the largest one-bedroom home in our neighborhood. Behind the opacified French doors are my wife's bathroom and a walk-in closet. Thus the upstairs, while not entirely my space, serves very nicely as my cave."
Sports and Hobbies
Football superfan Belinda Applegate proves that the stereotypes aren't true. "Not just for men," she says. "This is my cave!"

This Realstone Systems man cave has hockey memorabilia, dark wood accents, a real stone fireplace and a pair of chocolate-colored recliners.
Daveuh's man cave is where he displays his bobblehead, vintage toy and sports memorabilia collection. "Gonna need more bobble space soon," he says.
There's a "vintage gas pump too. And a great place to store my not-used-enough Total Gym," daveuh says.
Bibbster turned his space into a hobby room “Men and cars … they just go hand in hand,” he says. “My recent remodel of what used to be a pinball room is now home to my favorite hobby: slot car racing!”
“I couldn’t stop at just one track though,” bibbster continues. “With over 150 cars, I had to have more tracks! Is five too many?”
From Mooshlu: "My theater-room man, cave complete with 100-inch remote screen, 7-foot Jaxx beanbag and video game racing seat! Weekends go by too quick in here."
Bars
"We call it 'The Ultimate Home Bar,'" Absolute Green Homes says of its man space, which includes Captain Lawrence beers on tap, a 42-inch plasma TV and a personalized sign, all built with local antique, vintage and reclaimed wood.

A more feminine approach turns the man space concept on its head here. "Luckily I had a lot of say in our man cave," says Betsy Hall.
A basement renovation spurred this striking bar made from stone and reclaimed wood, also from Realstone Systems.
Walker Woodworking's burled maple bar top with a live edge nails a rustic-meets-sophisticated vibe.
Home Breweries
Klanns turned his extra space into a "design studio/nano brewery/mini malthouse/man cave," he writes. We say cheers to that.

Kwallner also went the brewery route — and then some.
"My man cave features a brewery, a bar where I serve the beer I make (eight beers on tap), a home theater and a sauna," kwallner says.
Lob1putt put a 70-inch TV in the main space and two 51-inch TVs above the bar.
There's also an HDTV above a full-length urinal. (I'm so proud of lob1putt, I could cry.)
"My man cave is only about 110 square feet, but it is a guitar lover's oasis. I call it 'The Guitarsenal!'" Dave Brinton says. "Room for 12 guitars to hang on the walls. All hangers are custom-made solid cherry blocks that straddle three bricks for added strength, with bumpers behind each guitar to protect them."
